BAFE SP203-1 & NSI Fire Silver

CFS East Anglia Ltd Achieves BAFE SP203-1 Accreditation Following Successful NSI Fire Silver Audit
Following a successful NSI Fire Silver Audit, we have now been awarded registration to the BAFE SP203-1 scheme for Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems.
This is a significant achievement for our business and one that we’re extremely proud of.
But what does this actually mean for our customers?
In simple terms, it means independent recognition that our systems, processes and competence meet the requirements of a recognised industry scheme for fire detection and fire alarm work.
BAFE SP203-1 covers the key stages involved in fire alarm systems, including design, installation, commissioning/handover and maintenance, helping to demonstrate that these activities are carried out using appropriate processes and controls.
For our customers, this provides an additional level of reassurance that when you appoint CFS, you are choosing a company that has undergone independent assessment of its competence and quality management processes.
It also means our customers can have greater confidence that:
-
🔥 Fire alarm work is carried out in accordance with recognised industry requirements.
-
📋 Our processes and documentation are subject to independent scrutiny.
-
👷 Our competence and working practices are assessed as part of the scheme.
-
🔧 Systems are designed, installed, commissioned and maintained using controlled processes.
-
📚 We are committed to keeping our knowledge, processes and standards up to date.
-
✅ There is greater traceability and accountability throughout the work we undertake.
So, what's actually changed?
For our customers... not a huge amount! We’d like to think we’ve always been pretty good at what we do. The important thing is that the quality, care and honest advice our customers have come to expect from CFS isn't changing.
What has changed is that we now have independent recognition and assessment to support what we have always aimed to deliver.
Achieving BAFE SP203-1 has involved strengthening our processes, reviewing our systems and ensuring that our approach stands up to independent scrutiny. It is another step in our ongoing commitment to compliance, competence and continuous improvement.
Why is this important?
Fire alarm systems are a critical part of fire safety. They aren't simply a box on the wall with a few detectors connected to it they need to be properly designed, installed, commissioned, maintained and managed throughout their life.
Choosing a BAFE-registered company gives building owners, managers and responsible persons an additional way of demonstrating that they have appointed a contractor operating under an independently assessed scheme.
It doesn't replace the responsibilities of the building's Responsible Person, and it doesn't automatically mean that every existing system is compliant. Our role is to provide competent advice, identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions even when that advice isn't necessarily what a customer wants to hear. That is something we will continue to do.
A big achievement for the whole CFS team
Although there has been a lot of work behind the scenes to get us here, this isn't just a compliance achievement it's a team achievement.
From our engineers working on customer sites, to our office and compliance processes, everyone has played a part in helping CFS reach this milestone.
A huge thank you to the entire CFS team for their hard work and commitment. 👏
We’re proud to add BAFE SP203-1 to our growing list of accreditations and achievements, and we’ll continue working hard to provide our customers with the competent, honest and reliable fire protection service they expect from CFS East Anglia.
Another accreditation in the bag. Another reason for our customers to have confidence in CFS. 🔥🏆
